Speech & Prize Giving Day.

An afternoon of celebration, reflection and recognition — honouring the learners who worked hard, showed character, and made La Fontaine College proud this year.

Held at La Fontaine College · September 2026

Once a year, the whole school gathers — students, staff, parents, board members and invited guests — for our Speech & Prize Giving Day. It is the moment when we look back on the year together, and when we take the time to celebrate the people who made it matter.

Speeches are given. Music is performed. Prizes are awarded. And, most importantly, learners who worked quietly and steadily all year finally get to hear their names called in front of the people who supported them.

What the day is about

More than a ceremony.

Three things that make the day worth holding every year.

01

Academic achievement

Recognising the learners who achieved at the highest level across Cambridge, ZIMSEC and HEXCO pathways — and the teachers who carried them there.

02

Character and service

Prizes for leadership, service, integrity and contribution to the school community — the values that don't always show up on a transcript.

03

Community

An afternoon that brings families, staff and board members into the same room, and reminds everyone that this work is done together.
